Can dogs eat Parsley (fresh)?

Parsley (fresh)(パセリ)

With care

An herb used in small amounts, but its iron, calcium, and potassium numbers are remarkably dense.

34 kcal per 100 g

What kind of food is this?

An herb used as a garnish. Per 100g: 7.5mg iron, 290mg calcium, and 1000mg potassium, each the highest of the vegetables we list. Vitamin A is 620µg and vitamin E is 3.3mg.

Iron supports the oxygen-carrying system in red blood cells; calcium supports bones, muscles, and nerves; vitamins A and E support vision, skin, and antioxidant defenses.

In practice it is used in small amounts, but far from being 'just a garnish leaf,' its nutritional numbers are extremely dense.

How to serve

It contains strongly aromatic essential oils, so rather than using it in quantity as a main leafy green, keep it to a small amount for aroma and color.

In food-energetics terms

In food therapy, this is classified as 'warming.' It is said to gently warm the body and is often chosen in seasons when chill is a concern.

(Food energetics is a long-standing idea of supporting the body through everyday meals. Treat it as one extra hint alongside the nutrition numbers.)
