Can dogs eat Kinako (roasted soy flour)?

Kinako (roasted soy flour)(きな粉)

Safe to feed

Whole soybeans ground into a powder — dense in protein, fiber, fat, and minerals.

451 kcal per 100 g

What kind of food is this?

A powder made from roasted soybeans. Per 100g: 36.7g protein, 18.1g fiber, and 25.7g fat, with 2000mg potassium, 260mg magnesium, and 8mg iron.

Soybeans also contain isoflavones, plant compounds in the polyphenol family. Isoflavones are studied for links to antioxidant activity and cell signaling.

Because it is a powder, small amounts are easy to use — far more concentrated than tofu, it adds soy protein, fiber, and fat all at once.

In food-energetics terms

In traditional food energetics it is classified as "neutral" — it neither warms nor cools the body.

(Food energetics is a long-standing idea of supporting the body through everyday meals. Treat it as one extra hint alongside the nutrition numbers.)
