What kind of food is this?
Finely ground eggshell. It is almost entirely calcium, with next to no calories, protein, fat, or carbohydrate.
Calcium is an essential mineral — material for bones and teeth, and also involved in muscle contraction and nerve signaling.
Its role is not to add other nutrients, but to top up the calcium that meat-heavy meals tend to lack and balance it against phosphorus.
How to serve
Measure the amount before using. On days when it overlaps with bone-in ingredients or other calcium sources, look at the total calcium in the meal. For growing puppies, do not add it on your own judgment — check the required amount first. Puppies cannot regulate how much calcium they absorb very well, and too much is known to affect bone development (especially in large breeds).
